the color page.

I havent been to my moms office in a while.
my moms a lawyer if i havent already said that.
Up on a wall theres a picture in a frame.
a picture i drew, nothing special just thick wavy lines of colors.
they were those waxy crayons i love. the kind that leave a stain all over your fingers when youre done.
I remember drawing that thing. At the hospital.
It was the activity time and we were coloring and that Jamie Foxx song was on and all the kids were jamming and singing along. Some in the back talking about when they were getting out and asking eachother how they ended up there. But not me.
I just colored on that paper and Sonia was there coloring me about 5 pictures telling me i was her best friend and i was smiling and piling them on top of eachother to take back to my room.
And there was this light shining through the windows because there was no curtains or strings for people such as my self.
A white light and it was fall and the leaves were on the ground outside. and i remember feeling SOO much better because they had just given me lexapro and i thought that i could turn my life around right there.
There was that boy named jesus with a tongue ring...which on a boy i thought was kind of gay. but on him it was hot. and he kept doing this thing with his tongue that drove me insane. in a good way.

all of that in that one picture. on my moms wall. in her office.
people come through there everday and some might even ask my mom "who drew that?" and she might say "my daughter". to them its just a picture.to me its a memoir.
i remember when i gave that picture to my mom in the visiting room and she made a big deal about it by hugging me and i pushed her off because i didnt want the other kids to think i was some punk and start getting on my case. I guess she did like it since she framed it and all. I think thats one of the nicest things my moms ever done for me. Framing that picture like that. It shows love.
